A visual essay of positive & negative perspective toward the troubled kingdom

Lately Thailand has been faced with political unrest that divided the country, resulting in turmoil and instability. In the wake of these events, True Corporation, one of Asia’s leading telecommunications conglomerates, decided to use its super-strong connection to interview top Thai opinion leaders about the future of the kingdom. This resulted in a collection of essays, written and illustrated, regarding the country’s future.

Every interview in the book boils down to one quote and every quote is accompanied by an illustration. Every illustration is made up out of positive and negative space using merely the national flag’s colors portraying a challenge, question or statement, referring back to the positive and negative elements the kingdom is facing. The front and back cover indicates a separated “TH-AI” while employing the same design technique to suggest what readers could expect when flipping further.

By giving negative space an equal importance to positive space throughout the book, the illustrations depict both negative and positive sides a beautiful but troubled nation is moving forward to.
